74-76 Market St, Manchester M1 1PN, UK – 0800 554 0712

The staff are pleasant and go out of their way to help. This is one reason Santander lost my business many years ago

Love this branch, the open plan, funky design and friendly staff make it a real pleasure to bank here.

Local Chambers of Commerce for M16 0PX. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Manchester Town Hall

Town Hall, Manchester M60 2LA, UK – 0161 234 5000

Christmas in Manchester! The Market around the town hall is the largest Christmas market in Manchester. With all the shopping, food, and desserts around it's a good night out! There is something for everyone and it's beautiful!!

The Manchester Town Hall, although is now closed for refurbishment, is quite eye-catching; Both externally and internally. It hosts an elegant cafe, but unfortunately the service is very poor. If you book a wedding in their conference rooms however, you'll be treated like royalty. They also host the notorious Manchester Christmas Market each year and that fills to the brim with customers, both local and national. And of course there are the many businesses selling supplements and hand crafted items, many of which had travelled across Europe to be there. Many are turned away due to not having enough space to accommodate them. Instead, they are put on a waiting list. It is a building of sophistication, and is well maintained.

Wilmslow Road Medical Centre

156 Wilmslow Rd, Manchester M14 5LQ, UK – 0161 224 2452

I saw the doctors about my depression and he was very sympathetic and kind and understanding as I was very apprehensive and embarrassed to talk about but he made me feel comfortable. The wait isn't long too which is always a plus

Totally disagree with the former review, the practice manager has totally turned the practice around in the past few months, improving premises facility service and access. patients will not recognise the place if they attend today. Rubi is the most helpful person in the practice going above and beyond her role as practice manager. I am confident that most if not all patients would echo my review rather than the malicious malik saab

The Wilbraham Surgery

515 Wilbraham Rd, Manchester M21 0UF, UK – 0161 881 6120

I recently moved into the area and joined as a new patient on the day i needed an emergency appointment. The staff were lovely and were able to squeeze me into see a doctor the same day when they could see how ill and weak i was. The doctor was very thorough and took bloods and tests there and then. Much appreciated.

I have contacted the Wilbraham Surgery on a number of occasions with concerns for two elderly friends who are patients of the practice. The response has been prompt and professional on each occasion. Thanks to the staff and doctors.

Borchardt Medical Centre

62 Whitchurch Rd, Manchester M20 1EB, UK – 0161 438 2821

Reading negative comments about the receptionists at Borchardt prompts me to say I have had nothing but positive experiences with the reception staff, who do a difficult job efficiently and courteously.

I've been a member of this practice for 37 years and it has done well by me and my family. Once I've overcome the hurdle of getting through to the receptionist first thing in the morning I've always been able to see a doctor the same day and I like being able to make appointments further ahead on-line. I can nearly always see the same doctor who specialists in my particular conditions and who is excellent. The nurses are lovely too.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

Oxford Rd, Manchester M13 9WL, UK – 0161 276 1234

This hospital is amazing. My son has been coming here for a few months now and the progress he has made to his feet and walking has been outstanding. The service I have received from Mrs Parkinson has been second to none. Even if I took my son to a private clinic I don't think I would have had such good results. Thank you Mrs Parkinson for all your hard work and help x

Staff are great. My son had an operation there he was only 1 they were great with him. We got to the ward fairly quick. And he was a day case. Only fault was when he came round they “apparently” rang reception for them to let me know but reception were non the wiser so my son got quite distressed and I wasn’t very pleased because obviously I wanted to be there for my baby when he came round. Other wise though all was great. Although his out patients appointments been rearranged by them 3 times Which was a bit of a pain when I came to booking time off work.

Thanks for all your help with sorting my recycling out :)

Very clean and professional service. Would recommend to other business owners and friends.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Manchester

The Restaurant Bar & Grill

Ridgefield House, 14 John Dalton St, Manchester M2 6JR, UK – 0161 839 1999

Classy as always. The terrace area with the outdoor bar is lovely. Retractable roof for poor weather days and heaters if it gets too nippy. Sadly though the service that we had was a bit slow and a couple of orders were forgotten and had to be chased up on. And it wasn't very busy so it was a bit of a puzzler. Nonetheless, it's still a nice place and great for a relaxed environment to chat over drinks. It is quite pricey here though.

Lovely sitting outside on the terrace on a warm day. Great service. Only disappointment was that I asked for my tuna steak to be cooked pink, but it was well overdone.

Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester

91-93 Liverpool Rd, Manchester M3 4JN, UK – 0161 831 9888

Love this place, staff can’t do enough. Fresh food cooked with an experience and although the chefs must do the same routine over and over you couldn’t tell, they have such energy and know how to get the table going. The menu looks slightly expensive if you’re just thinking as this as food, but there’s lots more to this restaurant than that. Also there’s soooo much food irregardless of your menu choice. Sushi is really nice as well - definitely underrated as a sushi bar.

I'd never been to a restaurant like this before, but it was a really great experience... The food was very good and it was fun to watch it being cooked right in front of us... some good fun with the Chefs too, who had little things they did to add to the entertainment of the experience. Highly recommended especially with a group of friends.

Bar San Juan

56 Beech Rd, Manchester M21 9EG, UK – 0161 860 0498

Best tapas in Manchester by far. It just feel like being home, staff are hospitable, very friendly, the food is original and so tasty.....I would not go anywhere else. They have a great selection of very good wines. Excellent in any way.....The only downside is the waiting time, but it's always worthy.

Some of the best tapas I've ever had. Simple, Spanish food, cooked really well. The slow cooked beef cheeks and the pulled lamb in pastry, on a wine reduction, can't be recommended highly enough. The place is tiny, and they don't take bookings. So if you go in the evening, be prepared for a long wait for a table. But it's a very authentic feeling space, with friendly service. On a sunny day, you could easily imagine yourself in Barcelona or Valencia.

Nursery and Preschools

Bright Horizons St Mary's Day Nursery and Preschool

St Marys Courtyard, St Mary's St, Manchester M15 5WB, UK – 0161 393 6728

One of the few schools that has complete information online. We got an appointment to visit from the US. We were glad to enroll our son at Kids Unlimited St Marys. Teachers are loving, dedicated and prepared. They are very helpful and they all know the children. We got daily information on what our son was doing. We also had some guidance with online courses for parents. He had plenty of activities indoors and outdoors and he made new friends.

126 Dickenson Rd, Manchester M14 5HT, UK – 0161 376 9569

Busy Bees at Manchester Fallowfield

26A Wilbraham Rd, Manchester M14 6JU, UK – 0161 248 6816

My daughter started going to busy bees when she was 3 years old. After being to three different nurseries in the area I was a bit sceptical of how she will settle inn in a NEW nursery. But it all went very well, the staff were very friendly and professional in dealing with her...she soon became attached to her key worker, and made a group of friends . As a mother is was important for me to have a happy , healthy environment fro my little girl, I found this at Busy Bees nursery. The rooms are always clean, they always have fun activities for the kids (planting seeds, watching eggs hatch, decorating cupcakes with the help of professional cupcake bakery) . Children have a daily access to the outside play area. Busy Bees has a Chef who always prepares healthy meals and snacks for the kids. Overall this place has a happy environment , the staff are always "hands on " and super friendly. The end of year party was yesterday, they had a magician performance , games, tea and graduation ceremony for the little ones (with little black graduation cap and gown) . My rating for Busy Bees is **OUTSTANDING** Absolutely loved it.

My son attends this school and Insh'Allah so will my daughter. I think the staff and facilities are very good. This is still a very young school and I feel that it is continually getting better. My son used to attend a long established grammar school and I feel they are very comparable, however, here my son learns about Islamic values.
