Hotels Manchester

Radisson Blu Edwardian Manchester

"Free Trade Hall" Peter street, Manchester M2 5GP, UK – 0161 835 9929

The room definitely felt dated and the bathroom a little shabby. Whenever it was renovated I'm sure it looked great and while the furniture and bed are all lovely I felt the room needed updating. It was clean as you would expect.Lovely staff and breakfast. I liked being near the Northern Quarter, but the street the hotel is on was a bit 'vibrant'.

Very lovely stay at this hotel. Room was as shown online and did not disappoint in the slightest! Amazing customer service , truly felt welcome as soon as we walked through the doors! The concierge (Though I forgot his name) was absolutely remarkable and was able to help with anything we required. The pool, steam and sauna rooms were all of very high quality as well. The ice machines were a great touch too. All in all, great value for money and hope to return soon.

The Midland

16 Peter St, Manchester M60 2DS, UK – 0161 236 3333

This is a lovely hotel in the heart of Manchester. It has the most grand entrance and the staff are welcoming. The room was good, but was in need of some attention. There was an electrical hum in coming from the ceiling by the door (not the air conditioning as this was off). There is a mini fridge with a couple of bottles of water in. The usual safe, kettle, iron, tea & coffee etc. Breakfast was good with enough to keep most happy. I’d stay here again. Thank you

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Manchester. Beautiful building. Lovely venue for a graduation. Poorly arranged by the University overcrowded, too many faculties graduating considering they receive 9K a year now from students you would think they would stagger the graduations more. Hotel itself helpful staff, very clean despite the massive overcrowding and I would like to go back there when there's no events on for the weekend. I would probably recommend this hotel just based on what saw even though I wasn't a guest staying there, otherwise I wouldn't go back for a weekend break.

Jurys Inn Manchester

56 Great Bridgewater St, Manchester M1 5LE, UK – 0161 953 8888

On arrival you're greeted by an employee who introduces you to a computer screen and invites you to check yourself in. The process is straight forward but I'm not sure how easy it would be if you were a harassed parent or had payment details to enter. A key card is produced for you and is required so that you can use the lift to get to your bedroom. The decor is fresh and new, bedrooms warm and spacious and not much noise from the street. Hotel is centrally located and within easy reach of good pubs and restaurants. I'm wondering if during checkout that bed linen and a vacuum will d provided for me to clean my Room!

Very clean. Nice breakfast. Quite noisy. Pillows were huge and no selection so not helping a decent sleep. No parking.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Manchester Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Parlour

60 Beech Rd, Manchester M21 9EG, UK – 0161 862 9535

Standard pub/gastro pub - meaning they serve half decent food as against a drinks only pub. Food here is as good as any other gastro pubs in the area or across the city. Place is usually quite busy as it is located centrally in that area. Serve baby portions as well. Sunday roast is quite good. If you plan to visit on the weakened then almost surely there will be waiting. Service is quick and staff is courteous. Have been here a few times. Nothing to complain about.

Excellent choice. Nice coffees with nice atmosphere. Gets a bit busy on weekend mornings. Nice decor.

The Bank

57 W Mosley St, Manchester M2 3FF, UK – 0161 228 7560

The Bank is a magical building, so much character and history. You can tell they really celebrate the history as there are photos and information worked into the interior which is very interesting to sit and wonder with a glass of beautifully served gin..what went on in such a grand building. My service on this occasion was fantastic, staff recommended a new fruity gin from the gin festival and a tonic I wouldn't have tried before but it worked well and I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone to try something they were so passionate about. I have tried a full meal in the past but decided to get a light lunch this time round and go for the Classic Chicken burger, it was very well presented and tasted even better. I would recommend the Bank for it's charm and helpful/friendly staff and if your a gin lover this place isn't on the usual gin radars or maps but it should be!

A favourite meeting up pub of mine. Excellent bar service and choice of ales. Didn't eat on this visit but have on the past, food is very good. Great central location and usually not too busy

The Knott

374 Deansgate, Manchester M3 4LY, UK – 0161 839 9229

Amazing little bar/ pizzeria/ pub under the railway line so the whole place rattles gently each time a train goes overhead. Slightly hipster but not annoyingly so, these guys do a fab pizza and not too pricey either. Prepare for an outstanding choice of local beers and similar tipples and a retro jukebox.

A lovely old bar that's right under the old railway bridge. They've recently started serving hot food if a really good quality and price.

Verdene Hotel

454 Moss Ln E, Manchester M14 4PW, UK – 0161 224 1576

Cheap and cheerful b&b. Good location with easy access into city centre and train stations. Did not find out until next morning that breakfast is an optional pre booked extra now but there's a great little weatherspoons at the end of the street.

Quickly made welcome by a member of staff. The room was small but comfortable with shower room en suite. Breakfast costs extra but was a delightful got cooked vegetarian breakfast.

Luther King House

Brighton Grove, Manchester M14 5JP, UK – 0161 224 6404

Basic room, comfortable and quiet. For some odd reason there was no curtain covering the clear-glass window in the bathroom? (the window literally beside the toilet, with clear view to the garden) I had to cover it with a bed sheet, which the staff kindly provided. The neighborhood is scary quiet and dark at night. Very friendly staff. Pity that I didn't try their breakfast which smelled delicious as I had to leave early

Small and basic room but clean and it had everything you need. Breakfast was in a big room with a high ceiling, good choice of food, all very clean and well presented. The grounds were gorgeous...it was like being in the country. Would definitely stay here again x

564-566 Wilbraham Rd, Manchester M21 9LB, UK – 0161 861 9836

To my taste, basic but simple bed and breakfast, not for most people.

Very friendly people
